Getting your vaccinations

Vaccinations help protect you and your family from many infectious diseases.

You'll be offered different routine vaccinations at different times, depending on your age and circumstances.

Read more about the vaccination schedule

For most routine vaccinations, your local health board will invite you by sending you a letter when you become eligible. You do not need to contact them to arrange your vaccinations.

You may be invited to a new location to receive your immunisations instead of your GP practice.

Vaccinations in pregnancy

Speak to your midwife to find out the local arrangements for the vaccinations you'll be offered during pregnancy. They'll be able to advise you on how to arrange your appointments.

What to do if you've missed your vaccination appointment

If you were unable to attend your vaccination appointment, please contact the number on your invitation letter.

If you have lost your invitation letter, did not receive an invitation, or missed a routine vaccination, you can get in touch with services in your area. They'll be able to advise if it's clinically appropriate for you to receive the vaccination, and arrange an appointment for you.

How to access you or your child's vaccination record

To access your own vaccination records you should first contact your GP. If they're unable to assist you, you can try contacting your local vaccination services.

To access your child's vaccination records, you should first check your child's red book. If you don't have a red book, or it has gone missing, you can check with your local health board's vaccination services.
