Carers
If a loved one has a heart condition, they may need extra care. They may feel like they’re a burden. Relying on other people can feel hard to accept.
Caring for someone can be physically and emotionally difficult. As a carer, you need to look after yourself too.
Read British Heart Foundation’s leaflet on Caring for someone with a heart condition.
There is a lot of support for carers. You can seek all kinds of help and advice from Care Information Scotland.
Find out all about caring at the Care Information Scotland website or phone them on 0800 011 3200 (8.00am to 10.00pm, 7 days a week). They also have a webchat service available from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week.
Support for carers is available from many organisations including:
- Carers Trust Scotland
- Carers Scotland
- Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland’s Advice Line Nurses
