Returning to work after an injury

If you get injured at work and need some time off to recover, it's never too early to start thinking about getting back to work.

You do not need to be 100% symptom free before you consider returning to work. Any decision will depend on the nature of your condition and the advice of a health care professional.

Benefit of returning to work

Sometimes getting back to work can help with a quicker and more successful recovery. Resuming your normal daily activities helps to builds up your strength and stamina levels.

Talking to your employer

You should discuss returning to work with your employer at the earliest opportunity.  It's important you don't wait until the last minute to do this. You can then jointly agree a timetable around your return and set expectations around work.
